Complete set of 4 engravings, each approx. 18.8 x 24.5 cm, each with central oval scene and with richly ornamented border. Printed from 2 separate plates; the first print monogrammed "PvB" and numb. 1, the other prints numb. 2-4 in the plates. Mounted at upper corners under passe-partouts. Good impressions on fine paper w. occas. traces of watermarks, w. very good margins. An attractive complete set. Hollstein 195-198 and Mielke (New Hollstein) 11-14, only state. Published by Gerard de Jode (1509-1591). -and 3 others, identical woodcuts in 3 variations on lvs taken from books, all monogrammed "PB" in the block and probably after Van der Borcht.
