Tijdschrift voor Letteren en Schoone kunsten. Rare Dutch artists' periodical with ties to Surrealism. Edited by Vancrevel and herman de vries. Published in Arnhem by M. Israel, 12 volumes (1963-1968), issued in a small edition of approx. 150. Striking handmade covers; staplebound; the first two issues 21 x 15 cm, later ones 29.5 x 21 cm. Featuring stencilled and original contributions by writers and artists such as herman de vries, stanley brouwn, Freddy de Vree, J.C. van Schagen et al. brouwn contributed a poem to PTL No. 1 (Berekening/Calculation) and original autumn leaves pasted in PTL No. 2 (Herfstbrouwn). Several original paperworks and collages by herman de vries present throughout the series. Beautiful rare early set.
(1) No. 1, Summer 1963, cover with original grey stamped dots, numbered 000105, stamped twice on cover. Moderate toning and creasing along extremities; interior near-mint. (2) No. 2, 1963, numbered 000192 on frontcover. Some wear to the edges of the fragile cover, otherwise good. With a loosely inserted publisher's sheet. Includes HERFSTBROUWN, two leaves by stanley brouwn pasted in, mint. (3) No. 3/4 Winter 1963/Spring 1964, numbered 000442. Corrugated cardboard cover with light toning and rubbing to the extremities. (4) No. 5, Summer 1964. Black paper wrapper with die-cut element, numbered 000607; very good copy. (total 4)
