Joseph Beuys. Food for Thought

Kassel, Verlag der Free International University, 1977. Offset lithograph on wove paper, with butter stain (as issued) and ink stamp, 88 x 16.5 cm. Signed 'Joseph Beuys' in pencil in the lower edge, with accompanying Free International University stamp in black, and grease stain in the lower right area. This copy framed in a wooden frame behind plexiglass (97 x 25 cm).

Issued in an unlimited edition by Beuys's publishing endeavour during the ‘One Hundred Days of the Free International University’ event at Documenta 6, Kassel. The text includes a food list, the record of a phone call and an Irish poem of the 6th century. The work was sold to raise funds for the university staff.
