Donald Judd: Catalogue Raisonné of Paintings, Objects, and Wood-Blocks 1960-1974

Ottawa, National Gallery of Canada, 1975. Published in conjunction with Judd's retrospective exhibition at the National Gallery of Canada, Ottawa, 24 May - 6 July 1975, edited by Dudley Del Balso, Brydon Smith and Roberta Smith. First edition. Orange linen board hardcover, orange paper dust-jacket with black lettering, 29 x 23 x 4.5 cm, 320 pp. In protective acetate wrapper. Profusely illustrated in b/w. Text in parallel English and French.

The publication functions both as exhibition catalogue (listing 51 exhibited works) and as a catalogue raisonné. It records 355 paintings, objects, and wood-blocks made between 1 August 1960 - when Judd moved into his New York studio on West 19th Street - and 1 July 1974, stating provenance, exhibition history and bibliography. Masterfully designed by Eiko Emori. Spine colour faded, moderate rubbing to corners and edges, and a few small closed tears to the top of the spine. Several scratches to the rear wrapper. Interior sheets and binding are fine, with mild age-toning to the edges. Scarce and sought-after publication by Judd.
