Cloth hardcover, 25 x 16 cm, 432 pp. The book opens with a list of the names of South American trees, followed by a textual and photographic account of Baumgarten's 18-month trip in Venezuela. (2) Land of the Spotted Eagle. Mönchengladbach, Städtisches Museum, 1983. Softcover, 24 x 17 cm, 157 pp. Numbered copy 420/600. Features an assemblage of stories from North American Indigenous tribes centered on the symbol of the eagle, with an epilogue by Johannes Cladders, designed by Walter Nikkels and Lothar Baumgarten. Text in German and English.

(3) Señores Naturales, Amazonas Tapajos Xingu Purus Orinoco Vaupes Tocantins. Softcover, 30 x 24 cm, 48 pp. Published in conjunction with the show at the German Pavilion during the Venice Biennale 1984. Designed by the artist and Walter Nikkels. Features photographs by Baumgarten taken during his stay with the Yanomami tribe in the Upper Orinoco region of Venezuela, 1978-1979. Additional texts by Johannes Cladders and Rudi Fuchs in English and German. (4) Tierra de los Perros Mudos. Amsterdam, Stedelijk Museum, 1985.
