Ben D' Armagnac. Rare set of documents, 1969-1981
(1-2) Galerie Mickery Loenersloot, 1969. Flyer and card announcing D'Armagnac and Dekker's contribution to Prospect 69 in Dusseldorf. It consisted of three beds, nine diary sheets, and two sheepskins. (3) Goethe Institut/Provisorium Amsterdam, 1972. Flyer for the first exhibition by Louwrien Wijers, D'Armagnac and Gerrit Dekker, printed on brown packing paper. (4-5) Seriaal Gallery Amsterdam, 1974. Press release and card promoting the publication 'Sheet' by D'Armagnac. (6) Bonnefantenmuseum Maastricht, 1974. Exhibition poster and catalogue for the show held from 2 - 31 March, folded for mailing.
(7) Gemeentemuseum Roermond, 1975. Invitation card for performances held on 20 - 21 Dec. (8) Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, 1976. Invitation card for a performance on 10-11 April. With green stamp of De Appel on rear. (9-10) Bonnefantenmuseum Maastricht, 1980. Folded poster and press release for the show held in March and April. (11-12) Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, 1981. Press release and flyer for the retrospective shoe held from 18 Sept. to 15 Nov. 1981. (13-16) Four b/w press photos, incl. three with Stedelijk Museum labels. Also includes a picture of the seminal performance in May 1978, where the artist is laying on the terrace of the Brooklyn Museum in New York, while a hard jet of water is directed continuously to his heart. (17) Obituary card Ben D'Armagnac 1940-1978, featuring an image of a performance at the Brooklyn Museum. Tragically, the artist drowned only a few months after the performance. (total 17)
