Connecting the cities of New York and Brooklyn. View from Brooklyn, looking West. Chromolithogr. panoramic view, 52 x 83.5 cm, published in N.Y. by Currier and Ives, copyright 1886. Fully backed, with a number of creases/ cracks, a few sm. holes/ thin spots, marg. imperfections. Colourful and attractive large view. (2) Bird's-eyw view of the Great Suspension Bridge, connecting the cities of New York and Brooklyn - from New York looking South-East. Commenced January 3, 1870, Finished May 24, 1883. Chromolithogr. panoramic view, 53 x 92.5 cm, published in N.Y. by the Franklin Square Lithographic Co., ca. 1890, w. legend listing the people involved in the construction of the bridge, and technical details below the image. In similar condition as the preceding, waterst. in upper r. corner, sm. tears (one at the right affecting the image). A very impressive, lively large view showing num. ships and boats. -and 1 other large chromolithogr. plate showing the great Conemaugh-Valley disaster-flood & fire at Johnstown, PA. on friday May 31st 1889, PA (Chicago, Kurz & Allison, copyright 1890) (mediocre copy).
