Bazooka. Un Regard sur le Monde/ Un Regard Moderne, complete set

Issues No.0 - No.5, published between Jan. 1978 and July 1978. Paris, Libération/ Bazooka, 1978. Tabloid newspaper, 40.5 x 29 cm, 32 pp, printed in various colours. Directed by Alain Bizot, edited by the French art and graphic designer collective Bazooka. Heavily image-based zine, text in French with some issues partly in English. The pilot issue No. 0 was titled 'Un Regard sur le Monde: L’actualité du mois en image'; later issues were titled 'Un Regard Moderne: L’actualité du mois en image'.

The magazine was published as a supplement to the socialist newspaper Libération, while remaining editorially independent, projecting a punk zeitgeist, through subversive texts and radical graphic design. Featured are colour illustrations and texts by the Bazooka group, comprising Christian Chapiron (Kiki Picasso), Jean-Louis Dupré (Loulou Picasso), Olivia Clavel (Electric Clito), Philippe Renault (Lulu Larsen), Bernard Vidal (Bananar), Philippe Bailly, Ti(5) Dur and Jean Rouzaud. All copies folded once (as issued), with browning of paper and tearing to paper edges. Cover sheet of No. 1 with some small tears and minor loss. A rare, near fine set. (total 6)
