[Maritime] De brand van het Motorschip "Pieter Cornelisz. Hooft" duurde van 13 t.m. 23 Nov. 1932

Title-p. printed in white followed by 48 photographs measuring 13 x 18 cm, mounted on 24 stiff paper lvs, orig. cordbound hcl., obl. 4to. Depicting the various stages of the fire and final dam. of the passenger ship "Pieter Corneliszoon Hooft" in the harbour of Amsterdam, damaging the ship beyond repair after it had made only two voyages to the Dutch East Indies.

*Description of the history and details of the 160 metre-long ship available online at Stichting Maritiem-Historie, using other photographs to illustrate the event: "Afgemeerd aan de Sumatrakade in Amsterdam, een zware brand uitgebroken in de nacht van 13 op 14 november, als gevolg waarvan het schip geheel werd verwoest en daarna als totaal verloren beschouwd. De bestrijding van de scheepsbrand duurde nog weken. Wrak verkocht aan Simons' Metaalhandel N.V., Pernis waar het op 15 december 1932 aankwam. Tijdens de sloop zonk het schip op 28 september 1933 alsnog."
