Nadal, Fernand (b. ca. 1898 -?). Saigon, eighteen photographs
Gelatin silver prints, ca. 1930. All but two with stamp 'reproduction interdite Photo Nadal, Saigon'. Each 8.8 x 11.5 cm.
Born in Algeria (b. ca. 1898), Nadal moved to Indochina in the early 1920s, establishing a studio on Rue Catinat in Saigon. A prominent commercial and official photographer, he worked for the colonial government, luxury hotels (notably in Angkor), and major local industries. He published postcards, printed albums, and operated a branch in Phnom Penh. The photos in this lot were never published as postcards.
