Folio, half-leather, (5)VII,64,VIII pp., text in English and French, 16 (out of 20) engraved prints (most in aquatint), incl. frontispiece, 1 double-paged print and 4 half-page engravings; plus 6 colooured and pasted pieces of decorated paper on one leaf. Various prints have been coloured recto and partially verso to ensure a special translucent effect.

Spine restored using original material, 1 print plus next page torn and repaired. Incomplete with 16 out of 20 prints. A detailed record about making translucent prints meant to be looked at in front of windows, Chinese or other lamps, panels, screens, etc. Special and rare.
