The Dutch pavillion on the colonial exposition of 1931 in Paris was built after a magnificent design by architect W.J.G. Zweedijk. The building was a mixture of various Indonesian elements, which impressed the other participating countries and was a kind of showpiece of the exposition. 33 Million visitors saw the exposition in the summer of 1931! Additionally: a metal souvenir ash-tray embossed with the Zweedijk pavillion and a copper memorial coin with the pavillion on one side, and a woman's portrait with the side text "Oceanie" on the other.
