*During the reign of King Louis Napoleon, the basis for our modern law system was laid with this lawbook. Napoleon, however, was not satisfied, because it deviated too much from the French standards and was based on the Dutch system. Brother Louis resigned, and two years later the lawbook was replaced with the French Code Civil.
