Album des Families Lou et Bovy

Family photo album ca. 1900-1927, with family photos of the Lou - Bovy family. 13 leaves with printed photos in sepia, with titles in French, English, German, with supplementary sheets of blotting paper. On inside cover a pasted handwritten card from Pierre-Célestin Lou next to a printed text in Chinese characters, dated 1933. Oblong album.

Lou Tseng-Tsiang (Lu Zhengxiang) of Dom Pierre-Célestin Lou (Zhejiang, 12 June 1871 - Bruges, 15 January 1949) was a Chinese diplomate, Minister of Foreign Affairs and First Minister of China. He converted to catholicism. On 12 February 1899 he married Belgian Berthe-Françoise Bovy (Brussels, 14 September 1855 - Bern, 16 April 1926), daughter of Major Frédéric Bovy (1812-1864) and fifteen years his junior, in St. Petersburg.
