Anton Heyboer (1924-2005) - De avonturen van Empie en Sharpie

Ca. 1944. 12 proofs of an unpublished picture book during the war. Size per sheet 18.5 x 25 cm.

The originals of these drawings were auctioned by us in 2012. These proofs are the only duplicates of the proofs offered in that lot known to us. Unknown work from the younger days of Anton Heyboer. Found while cleaning out the attic of the intended publisher at the time, Bigot & Van Rossum. An inquiry with one of the widows led to recognition of the work, but it was presumed lost. The quality of the drawings is exceptional and reminds one of the work of Marten Toonder. (total 12)
