[Arbenz Motorwagenfabrik] Ring-bound album with ca. 90 pasted photos

of lorries and motor coaches, 1920s, mostly with technical details in pen in German on the reverse, all ca. 12 x 15 cm., occasionally with Dutch inscriptions, original flexible green cloth ring-binding with cover with two studs, 4to size.

Most likely a kind of original sample catalogue of the Swiss truck factory Arbenz, although this name only appears in the album on the grille and parts of several pictured vehicles. Most vehicles have their most important functions and possibilities clearly pictured. Besides the photos of the vehicles themselves, the album includes images of details, the factory spaces for spare parts and a map of the factory complex. Eugen Arbenz founded an automobile factory in 1904 in Albisrieden near Zürich, already from 1905 the factory only produced lorries. In 1922 the factory went bankrupt but was continued in 1924 by Edwin Oetiker, who kept building lorries into 1934. Information from: de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Automobilfabrik_Orion. One of the customers was Gemeentereiniging Almelo, of which a vehicle is pictured several times.
