Leaf D8 damaged in top corner with loss to text; leather on spine trifle dry with subsequent defects. Rare Parisian edition with engravings in beautiful prints. Diego de Saavedra Fajardo (1584-1648) was a Spanish diplomat and writer. This work, loosely translated as "The Idea of a Christian political prince", first appeared in 1640 and was inspired by the Emblemata política (1618) by Jakob Bruck Angermunt.
