With descriptive Chapters. Foreword by Theodore Roosevelt. Edited by J. Murray Allison. New York, The Century Co., 1917, printed on Alexandra Japan Paper in 1050 numbered copies signed by the secretary of The Century Co., 2 vols., text unpag., with 126 pasted plates (incl. frontispiece), uniform gilt lettered cloth with morocco title shields, gilt top edges, cloth dust jackets, large folio.

Several plates with imprint of the letters on the facing text page (probably as usual); here and there sm. defects (e.g. title shields of vol. 2); cloth dust jackets soiled/stained. This is copy no. 262, printed in name of Eben Mac Burney Byers (1880-1932), with his ex libris on inside of both front boards. See: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eben_Byers (mostly known for the way he died!). Powerful tribute to one of the greatest visual reporters of the First World War.
