[West Indies] Twee onderscheydene reys-togten (...) in de West-Indien,

Beyde gedaan in het Jaar 1524. De eerste door Gil Gonzales Davila, van St. Dominica na de Honduras ondernoomen (...). De tweede handeld van de gevaarlijke land-togt, door Ferdinand Cortes na Las Ybueras gedaan, den oproer binnen Mexico (...). Uyt de egte hand-schriften der reysigers (...) door (...) Antonius de Herrera, in het Spaans beschreeven, en nu alder-eerst uyt die spraak vertaald. Leiden, Pieter van der Aa, 1706, (2),107,(10 index) p., with folding, engraved plate and 3 fine, folding engraved maps, 20th-century cover.

Tanned/stained at beginning and end; blank top margin of the plate partly lacking; holes on fold of one map. According to the title page, this is the first Dutch translation of the original Spanish text of these early 16th-century travel accounts. With fine maps of Central America. Davila's journey is discussed up to page 51 (with the plate and one map), the journey of Cortes covers the rest of the book (with 2 maps).
