Miniature printing press, ca. 1850

Cast-iron handpainted printing press, (northern?) Netherlands, 2nd half 19th century. 16 x 18 x 26.5 cm. Lovely copy.

Once bought from antiquarian Nico Israël in Amsterdam by a former employee (Israël thought the employee was more deserving of the press than a customer). The matching letters in a box were later stolen in a burglary.
