Herman van den Eerenbeemt (1890-1951). "Vrienden-Boek".

"Aangeboden aan Herman van den Eerenbeemt Ter gelegenheid van de Officiëele opening van het Internationaal Cultureel Centrum Paviljoen Vondelpark Amsterdam op zaterdag 17 Mei 1947". With calligraphed and gold-heightened title page followed by 80 leaves (half of which blank) with 497 mostly alphabetically pasted strips with signatures, bound in full gilt-lettered vellum with dust jacket, large folio (45.5 x 33.5 cm.).

Title page browned by "protective" inlay, else here and there slightly foxed; dust jacket with minor defects. Herman van den Eerenbeemt was a literator, editor of the Roman-Catholic weekly Opgang, publisher and poet of plays (Judith, 1916, Samson, 1918, heroic plays in verses). Born in Den Bosch and honorary citizen of his birthplace, he was director of N.V. Van Munster's Uitgeversmaatschappij in Amsterdam (with inlaid photo of an office of the publishing house). With inlaid declaration that the Kas-Vereeniging N.V. for the benefit of the Herman van den Eerenbeemtfonds received a sum of more than 9000 guilder worth of pledges from 455 subscribers. Also with inlaid photo of Van den Eerenbeemt in his office, with signed dedication from fellow literator Vincent Cleerdin (1888-1946), dated 1916. Contains signatures of i.a. Willem Andriessen, Oskar Back, Cees Bantzinger, Bernet Kempers, J.C. Bloem, Paul Brand, Kuno Brinks, Heinrich Campendonk, Joan Collette, Antoon Coolen, Maurits Dekker, O.J.Tj.N. Domela Nieuwenhuis, Emma Dronckers, Jan Eisenloeffel, Herman de la Fontaine Verwey, Ferdinand Helmann, Paul Huf, Bernard Houthakker, Jo Immink, Jan Mammen, Rudolf Mengelberg, Wilhelmus Mutsaerts (bishop of Den Bosch), Sandberg, Herre de Vos and Anton Vroom.
