Jean-Baptiste Oudry (1686-1755). (Two scenes with hunting dogs and their prey).

Two etchings from a series of four, 1725, each ± 36 x 27 cm. and with 4-lined French verse by "L.C.", each with printed "Peint pour le Roy par J.B. Oudry, et gravée par lui-même", published in Paris by Huquier, in mount in uniform 19th-century frames with label of frame maker and art dealer E. Picart on reverse.

Trimmed within plate edge with no loss to image; foxed. Frames and mounts in poor condition. Dumesnil 2 ("Le Chevreuil forcé") and 3 ("Le Renard Vaincu"), third and final state. Very rare, fine and large etchings.
