Auguste Brouet (1872-1941). (L'épluchage des pommes de terre).

Etching on thin laid paper, 1917, signed and "Epr. d'Artiste" in pencil, 14 x 14 cm., in mount.

Boutitie 140 and IFF 8, second state. The etching has in this state been printed in 75 numbered copies and only 10 copies (épreuve d'artiste) as ours, therefore exceptionally rare as such. The etching depicts potato-peeling soldiers and is part of a series of scenes related to the First World War.
