Bulletin 89: Bas Jan Ader In Search of the Miraculous (songs for the north atlantic; july 1975-). Double-page with b/w image of Ader in the tiny sailboat used in his performance to cross the Atlantic Ocean from Massachusetts to England. Verso contains musical score A Life On The Ocean Wave by Henry Russell. The artist supplied the material for this bulletin to be released when he would be midpoint in the Atlantic. Ader disappeared during the project, his deserted vessel was found on 18 April 1976. This bulletin was the last communication from the artist and a seminal document to this extraordinary work. Includes original envelope stamped August 26 1975. Minor browning along bottom edge, else a very good copy.
