Jacob Hendrik Marcusse's car dealership in Medan was founded in 1922 as an importer of Studebaker automobiles and lorries. The archive provides a good insight in the car trade in Indonesia circa 1950. The leather folder also contains more personal documents, such as a legal divorce document in which his wife demands 600 guilders of alimony per month.
