[Law] Simonis van Leeuwen (...). Censura forensis theoretico-practica,
id est, totius juris civilis Romani, usque recepti, & practici methodica collatio (...). Editio tertia altera parte auctior. Amsterdam, H. and the widow of Th. Boom, 1685, 2 parts in 1 vol., (36),558,(34); (12),218,(21) p., with 2 engr. illustrations, contemp. blindst. panelled calf, ribbed spine w. manuscript title, folio.
Partly waterst. in (mainly blank) margins. Attractively bound copy, with owner's entry "Ex bibliotheca W. Klerck" on free endpaper. This was perhaps Wilhelm Klerck, whose library was sold at auction in Nijmegen, 1744. Several books with this exact owner's entry can be found online. Our volume is the third edition (first 1662 and second 1678, see the preceding lot) of this very important work for Dutch law, published 3 years after the death of the author.
