[Till Eulenspiegel] Four popular editions in small 8vo, all in original wrapper

(1) Wonderbaarlijke en zeldzame historie van Thijl Ulenspiegel, Van zijn schalke, listige potzen en boeverijen, die hij zoo in zijn leven als ook in zijn dood bedreven heeft. Zeer tijdkortig en geneuglijk om te Lezen. Voor Oude en Jonge Lieden. Sneek, F. Holtkamp, n.d. (ca. 1825?), 90,(6) p., with title woodcut and 20 woodcut illustrations (title slightly damaged, lacks front cover, binding cords barely keep up).

Very rare, only one copy in PiCarta (Leeuwarden). Regarding the text possibly a pirated edition of the following, the illustrations differ. The preface closes with "Vaart wel, en Leest met vermaak", with which we wholeheartedly agree; (2) Wonderbaarlijke historie van Thyl Ulenspiegel, Van zijn Schalke, listige Potzen en Boeverijen, die hij zo in zijn leven als ook in zijn dood bedreven heeft, Zeer tijdkortig en geneuglijk om te Lezen. Voor Oude en Jonge Lieden. Deventer, J.H. de Lange, n.d. (ca. 1800), 90,(6) p., with title woodcut and 21 woodcut illustrations (wrapper with defects such as tape on spine, yet a good copy); (3) Wonderlijke historie van Thyl Uilenspiegel, behelzende Zijne schalkachtige Potsen en Boeverijen (...). Verbeterd en vermeerderd, en met nieuwe platen versierd. Deventer, P. de Lange, n.d. (ca. 1845), with woodcut title vignette and illustrations (content loose and with many turned corners, wrapper with tears and missing pieces). And with one more (stage adaptation 1812) (total 4).
