and rare conceits of master Tyll Owlglass. Newly collected, chronicled and set forth, in our English tongue, by Kenneth R.H. Mackenzie. Second edition. London, Trübner & Co, 1860, XLIII,255 p., with lithographed frontispiece, with 6 beautifully handcoloured, lithographed plates and 26 wood-engraved illustrations in the text by Alfred Crowquill, original rich gilt blue cloth, all edges gilt.

Lovely copy with light wear to corners and spine ends, old owner's name on endpaper. The first edition of the book was such a success it was reprinted within only a few week, with an extra introduction of 11 pages before the introduction of the first edition; (2) The glorious adventures of Tyl Ulenspiegel by Charles de Coster. The first complete translation into English by A.R. MacDougall. With illustrations by Richard Floethe. Haarlem, printed for the members of the Limited Editions Club by Joh. Enschedé en Zonen, 1934, printed in 1500 numbered and signed copies (this is number 89 signed by R. Floethe), XV,(1),277,(2) p., with coloured illustrations, original gilt cloth with transparent dust jacket, folio (total 2).
