Barbe, Ioan Collaert and Adriaen Collaert, later half leather, oblong large 4to (25 x 28 cm.).

Lacks plates 3, 9, 10 and 48; title and plates 28 and 49-51 pasted and without margins (plate 28 browned and heavily soiled); nearly all plates soiled in margins and affected by damp in blank bottom margin, several plate stained in the image; binding worn/ damaged. The first edition was edited by Adriaen Collaert (ca. 1560-1618), in ca. 1598. Our edition by Johannes Adriaen Collaert and Carolus Collaert is difficult to trace, a more general edition also exists by Johannes Galle from c. 1650. A large number of plates carry the address of Theodorus Galle, a smaller part that of Adriaen Collaert, this set may have been compiled from various editions. Contains besides the title (plate 1?) plates 2, 4-8, 11-47 and 49-51.
