[Militaria] Two rare works in one volume: (1) Oostende.

Vermaerde, gheweldighe, lanckduyrighe, ende bloedighe belegheringhe, bestorminghe ende stoute aenvallen: mitsgaders de manlijcke, cloecke ende dappere teghenweer ende defensie by den belegerden, meer dan drie volle jaren langh cloekmoedelijcken ghedaen inde jaren 1601, 1602, 1603, ende 1604. Waerachtelick beschreven door Philippe Fleming (...). The Hague, Aert Meuris, 1621, (1),589,(1) p. (paging here and there incorrect), with engraved title vignette, arms of Maurice, portrait of Maurice on horseback, portrait of the author and another 10 portraits, also 17 double-page engraved plates (1x folding), contemporary speckled calf with gilt double line border on both boards, ribbed and gilt back with morocco letterpiece, 4to.

Includes an ear between p. 48 and 49 for a plate; the index also requires a plate no. 2 in that place. Digitised copies online, however, also lack a plate in that place, and a recently auctioned-off copy also contained 17 double-page plates; we therefore assume our copy to be complete. Interior with minimal defects, binding slightly worn and rubbed and damaged at the top of the spine, yet a very good copy of a rare work. Bound together with: (2) Bergen op den Zoom beleghert op den 18 Iulij 1622, ende ontleghert den 3 octobris des selven Iaers (...).
