Lochem en omstreken.

Colourlithographic map on smooth paper by A. Staring (with his monogram in bottom right corner), 6th edition, printed in 1917 at Amsterdam by the Gebroeders Braakensiek for the Lochem "Verfraaings-Gezelschap", 63.5 x 52.5 cm., mounted in 12 parts to foldable cloth.

A few minor tears to the paper, but a good copy. This lovely and very colourful tourist map of the Lochem area was first issued in 1886. The indication "1 uur gaans" (22.8 cm.), the distance walked in an hour's time, in the bottom margin is divided into 10-minute periods, which allowed travellers to accurately assess walking distances. The legend top left is entirely aimed at hikers and bicyclists, with bottom indication: "Wandelpad van den A.N.W.B. (Langs vele voorname zandwegen loopt een rijwielpad)".
