[Pharmacopoeia. Netherlands] Pharmacopoea Belgica
The Hague, Typographia Regia, 1823, XII,220,(20),221-228 p., w. fold. engr. plate, cont. tree calf, 4to. Upper inner hinge broken, outer corners of covers worn.
Wittop Koning, p. 230-232; Wellcome IV, p. 368; Vandewiele p. 307. Copy numbered "1361" and signed in pen by F.J. van Maanen on verso title-p. In 1815, a commission of Dutch professors was installed to produce a pharmacopoea that would render all earlier pharmacopoeias obsolete. One of the members was Van Maanen, who authenticated the copies with his signature. After the secession of Belgium, this publication formed the basis for the Pharmacopea Neerlandica of 1851 and the Pharmacopoeia Belgica Nova of 1854.
