Dutch manuscript translation of and bound with: Pharmacopoea Ultrajectina Nova. Utr., J. van Poolsum, 1749, (8),240,(22) p., 2 fold. engr. tables, sl. later hroan w. block-printed paper over sides, 8vo in 4to size. Text leaf N8 and most of the second fold. table replaced in modern facsimile. Quire E loose, some staining and other imperfections. Binding a bit worn along extremities and dustsoiled (used copy), w. intriguing old owner's entry on frontcover. A very interesting, interleaved large paper copy, w. Dutch translation and num. and extensive (marg.) annots.
The Dutch manuscript translation was apparently written around 1790, but was never published. For the printed work: Daems & Vanderwiele, p. 179-80. The third and final edition of the Utrecht pharmacopoeia. Earlier editions appeared in 1656 and 1664. (See also the section Old books, Medicine, for another copy of this edition.)
