Rare only Dutch edition of the Pharmacopoea Svecica, first published in 1775 but here in translation of the second edition 1779. (2) Pharmacopoea Svecica. Stockholm, H. Fougt, 1775, (10),237,(3) p., w. the engr. coat of arms of the Collegium Medicum on title-p., cont. hcalf, gilt and ribbed spine w. mor. letterpieces. A bit foxed throughout. Binding a bit rubbed along extremities. With bookplate of Adolf and Louise von Krusenstierna. First edition of this specific text. A not very succesful Pharmacopoea Holmiensis appeared in 1686, but eventually a new pharmacopoeia was needed, A. Bäck was commissioned to compose it. He was assisted by Linnaeus, who primarily contributed to the section on the effects and uses of medicines. -and 1 other (Pharmacopea Svecica/ Pharmacopoea Pauperum, 1787, e.l.c.).
