Coster and profile of The Hague by J. Besoet (dated 1762) on title-p., cont. hroan, 4to. Very good copy, w. only minimal internal and external imperfections, e.g. covers a bit worn along etremities. The only edition of the unauthorized Dutch translation of the official The Hague pharmacopoeia. In the postscript, De Cros explains his side of the story concerning this (supposedly) unauthorized Dutch edition. (2) Pharmacopoea Hagana ex auctoritate magistratus poliatrorum opera inataurata et aucta. Ibid., F. Bouquet, 1738, (22),196,(20) p., w. engr. fontisp. (same as in the 1762 ed.), 2 fold. engr. tables, cont. vellum w. manuscr. title on spine, 4to. A very good copy w. only minor imperfections, w. the bookplate of apothecary Klaas Visscher (d. 1947) on frontcover. Leaf ***4 seems to be cancelled in all copies. Daems & Vandewiele, p. 113. Second rev. edition, the first edition was published in 1669 almost simultaneously in 4to and in 12mo (see elsewhere in this auction). A third edition appeared in 1758.
