The author is known from his published work Limbursche spreekwoorden en gezegden. Verzameld in Banholt en omstreken (Heerlen 1933). The present - unpublished - work contains a wealth of information on this very specific and strictly local subject, partly because the author's grandparents played a leading role in this "Banholter Kerkstrijd" (also known as "Banholter Schisma") and the author used his grandfather's diary as one of his sources.
