Willem Moll (1812-79) was church historian and professor: "Als beoefenaar der toonkunst en als dichter had hij zich onderscheiden; hij schreef eene dissertatie, die hij niet voltooid of verdedigd heeft, daar het doctoraat in de theologie hem, indertijd verhinderd het op de gewone wijze te verwerven, eershalve verleend werd in 1847. Zijne eerste standplaats als pred. was De Vuursche, in 1837, zijne tweede, Arnhem in 1847. Den 11 Juni 1846 sprak hij te Amst. zijne inwijdingsredev. uit als hoogl. aan het Athenaeum, dat, niet het minst door zijn toedoen, veranderd werd in eene universiteit, die hij 15 Oct. 1877 mocht inwijden."
