Engraving, 34.5 x 23.6 cm, w. Latin caption (8 lines) below the image, tipped onto mount at left margin and under passe-partout. A very fine impression w. much contrast, on paper w. foolscap watermark, trimmed to/ just outside the plate mark. Minor imperfections, a very good copy. Verso w. stamp of the famous Collection d'Arenberg (Lugt 567, sold at auction in London, 1902). Hollstein 120, first state of 2. (2) N. de Bruyn (1571-1656). "Domus Lamentationis" (house filled with mourning). Engraving, 32.5 x 38 cm, after Maerten de Vos (I) (ca. 1531-ca. 1603), signed "Nico de Bruyn fecit", "M. de Vos invent" and w. address "Assuerus a Londerseel excudit" in the plate, titled above the image and w. 6-line Latin verse below the image, mounted at upper corners under passe-partout. Very good impression on paper w. pot watermark, trimmed to/ near the plate mark, expertly remargined. Minimal imperfections. Hollstein (De Bruyn) 210 and Hollstein (De Vos) 1237, first state of 2. -and 1 other by Jan van Londerseel (1578-ca. 1624) after Davind Vinckbooms I (1576-ca. 1632).
