Muller, H. Jansz. (1539/40-1617). The Parable of the Talents
Complete set of 6 engravings, all ca. 20 x 28.5 cm, after Gerard van Groeningen (act. ca. 1561-1576), numb. 1-6, the first signed "Cp. Groening inventor", plates 2 and 3 w. monogram of Muller as maker, plate 6 signed "Harman Muller Fe.", all w. latin text below the image, mounted at upper corners under passepartouts. Fine impressions on paper w. unidentified watermark, w. very wide margins. All prints sl. yellowed, and waterst. in blank upper r. corner, minor other imperfections. All. lvs. w. tiny holes in left blank margins from formerly being threadbound together, as was apparently done by (travelling) printsellers in earlier ages, to keep sets like ours neatly and unobtrusively together. A very good, rare complete set. Hollstein (Muller) 64-69, first state (of 2), New Hollstein (Muller) 49, 50, 52 and 53, second state (of 3) and 51 and 54, first state (of 2), and New Hollstein (Van Groeningen) 108-113, the states following those w. the corresponding Muller numbers.
