Muller, H. Jansz. (1539/40-1617). The story of Dinah and Shechem

Complete set of 4 engravings, all ca. 20 x 25 cm, ca. 1569, after Maarten van Heemskerck (1498-1574), the first unnumb., the others numb. 2-4, the first w. address "G. de Iode excu.", numb. 3 signed "Muller F.", numb. 4 almost invisibly signed w. the name of Van Heemskerck in lower margin, all w. 1-line Latin verse below the image, mounted at upper margins under passepartouts. Good impressions, all on paper w. watermark house w. smoking chimney and w. very wide margins. All w. smoothed-out central vertical fold, the first print a bit foxed and stained (mainly in blank margins), occas. minor imperfections. A good complete set. New Hollstein (Van Heemskerck) 31-34 and New Hollstein (Muller) 1-4, first state (of 2). -and 5 others by and after the same, incl. the 1st and 4th print from the series of 4 dep. Judah and Tamar, Hollstein (Muller) 5, second state (of 4) and 8, first state (of 2) (both very good copies w. ample margins).
