Wierix, J. (1549-ca. 1620). Eleven prints: (1-7) The miracles of Christ

Seven (of twelve) engravings, all ca. 20.5 x 25.5 cm, after Gerard van Groeningen (act. ca. 1561-1576), plate 1 and 6 w. var. addresses of Gerard de Jode (1509-1591), all w. 1-line Latin text below the image, mounted at upper corners under passepartouts. Good impressions on paper w. occas. (traces of) watermarks (incl. pot), trimmed on/ just outside. Smoothed-out central vertical folds, the bible-verses indicated in old manuscript in lower r. corner. A good, almost complete set in first state, only lacking plate 8. Hollstein (J. Wierix) 174-177, 179, 180 and 183 and Hollstein (Van Groeningen) 66, 67, 69, 70, 71, 75 and not in Hollstein (Van Groeningen) because the print dep. Christ healing the withered arm of man on Sabbath is after Jan Snellinck (I) (1544/49-1638). -and 4 others by the same, incl. the 1st and 4th print from a series of 4 dep. the story of Jonah, after Maerten de Vos (I) (1531/32-1603). Johannes Wierix was the brother of Hieronymus Wierix and Anthonie Wierix (II).
