Complete set of 4 engravings dep. allegories of the four stages of human life, all ca. 22 x 25.5 cm, numb. 1-4, signed "Martin de Vos inventor 1591" and "Raphael Sadler sculp 1591" and similar, two w. address of Raphael Sadeler, all w. 8-line Latin text below the image, mounted at upper corners under passepartouts. Very fine, contemp. impressions w. much contrast, all on paper w. large eagle watermark, w. good margins. Hollstein (R. Sadeler) 206-209 and Hollstein (De Vos) 1462-1465, only state. A desirable set.
