Boxes. Dwan Gallery

Exquisite catalogue in the form of a box, issued on the occasion of the 1964 exhibition 'Boxes' at Dwan Gallery Los Angeles. Screen-printed card box, 18.5 x 11.5 x 8 cm, housing three paper scrolls (89 x 17 cm), featuring biographical text and b/w images of sculptures that explore the significance of the box in twentieth century art. This copy was mailed to Wim Beeren at the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam. Dwan Gallery sticker and postal stamp on verso of box.

Participating artists include Joseph Cornell, Kurt Schwitters, Andy Warhol (Brillo box), Marcel Duchamp (Boite en Valise), Jim Dine (Black Drill Box), Marisol, Louise Nevelson, Claes Oldenburg, Robert Rauschenberg, Marital Raysse, James Rosenquist, Peter Agostini, Arman, Anthony Berlant, Letty Eisenhauer, Robert Watts, Tom Wesselmann, and H.C. Westermann. Spotting and light wear to the exterior of the box; rolled sheets in very good condition.
