New York, self-published, 1976. Staple-bound, 21.5 x 28.5 cm, 18 pp. Handmade artist's book, with stamped cover, seven tipped-in gelatin silver prints and glassine protective sheets. Includes 'Reviews', a humorous series consisting of exhibition reviews from recent art magazines, with added commentary, a photo of a reconstruction of the reviewed work, made by bas-Cohain, based on the author's description, and a photo of the actual work. Extremely rare, fine copy.
Rachel bas-Cohain (1937–1982) was a New York based conceptual artist working in a variety of media. She was a founding member of the women’s cooperative A.I.R. Gallery, as well as a member of Central Hall Gallery, Women in the Arts, and the Ad Hoc Women Artists’ Committee. Her image is included in the iconic 1972 poster Some Living American Women Artists by Mary Beth Edelson.
