Exceptional copy of this rare, brought out on one’s own and beautifully illustrated publication: with BY ORDER OF THE AUTHOR on the endpaper to the Naturforschende Gesellschaft zu Altenburg (duly stamped by their library on the title page), dated "Berlin den 4 April 1860". Moreover, a good, slightly rusty spotted copy, edges of the plates slightly tattered.
