[Huygens] Archive of the Huygens family,

consisting of ± 150 manuscript and letterpress documents, 17th-19th century, various sizes, kept in old folio-sized board porfolio with ties.
Interesting archive of a family best known for Constantijn Huygens (1596-1697) and the world-famous mathematician Christiaan Huygens (1629-1695). Incl.: (1) Bifolium manuscript copy dated 1659 and warranted in 1681, concerning the "Stichtinge van een Capelrije of Vicarie (...) anno 1349" (mentioning the "St. Pieters kerck te Leyden"); (2) Genealogical list of names and dates of members of the Huygens family, starting with Laurens Huygens (w.d.) up to Suzanna Huygens (d. 1785); (3) Notarial document concerning Joannes Huygens "Hoogheemraad van Delfland wonende alhier in de eerste Wagenstraat", dated 1825, (10) p., folio, with wax seal; (4) Original letterpress marital document, filled out in pen to confirm the marriage between Johannes Huygens and Alida de la Faille on April 28, 1764, with tax blind stamps and a stamp of the The Hague stork (1 leaf measuring 25 x 19 cm); (5) A letterpress grant that the marriage for the churches of The Hague of Johannes Huygens and Alida de la Faille can take place, filled out in pen, dated 13 May 1764, 17.5 x 21 cm, with tax blind stamp; (6) "Huwelijkse voorwaarden tussen Joannes Huygens en Alida de la Faille 13 mei 1764 (...) den 20 april 1815 door de doot van Alida de la Faille verbroken". Manuscript notarial document, (4) p., folio, w. tax blind stamps; (7) "Geluk wensch ter vier en twintigsten verjaeringe van Mejuffrouw Alida de la Faille. Verjaert op den 17e September 1761". Manuscript love poem, dated The Hague, 22 September 1761, signed by Joannes Huygens, ingeniously folded in the shape of a heart; (8) Dissertatio Juridica Inauguralis (...) Casparus Nicolaus Huygens. Leiden, M. Cyfveer, 1797, (8),32,(2) p., contemp. wr., 4to. Also containing financial documents and calculations, several letters addressed to members of the family, occasional small publications ("Tafel-zang", "Feestlied" etc.), "Legaten van tafelgoed" etc.
