(...) door G. Brender à Brandis (...). Met 50 geographische kaarten en onderricht om dezelve wel te gebruiken. Amsterdam, S.J. Baalde, 1788, (8),236,(4) p., with the following double-page and folding, handcoloured engravings: 46 maps (the first 8 (!) of which are world maps with various projections, incl. in the shape of a heart), followed by 2 "Stedenwijzers", and the last plate (50) is a flag chart, contemporary gilt half leather with morocco title shield.

Maps contemporaneously numbered in pen on spine: 1-6, 7/8 (one map) and 9-47, stedenwijzers 48-49 and flag chart 50. Besides a few traces of use a very good copy with owner's name J.P. v.d. Brandeler in pen on inside front board. This is the first edition, in 1789 a new edition (title edition?) appeared at Gravius, also in Amsterdam. Besides the extraordinary set of world maps with fine maps of the continents, the European countries, the Mediterranean and the Black Sea and the provincial maps of the Netherlands.
