Furnius, P.J. (ca. 1545-1610). The parable of the wheat and the tares

Complete set of 4 engravings, all 20 x 24.5 cm, after Gerard van Groeningen (act. ca. 1561-1576), the first print w. address "Gerard de Iode Excudebat Ano. 1568", all prints w. caption below the image, mounted at upper corners under passe-partouts. Very fine impressions on paper w. watermark pot (all lvs), w. very wide margins. All lvs. w. smoothed-out central vertical fold. Hollstein Van Groeningen 92-95, first state (of 2). Very rare comple set in excellent condition. The artist is also known as Pierre Dufour, Pierre Jalhea de Foere and variants, the artist worked in Antwerp in Plantin's printing office during the years 1563-1571.
