Engraving, 20 x 26.3 cm, after Jan van der Straet (1523-1605), numb. 26 in lower left corner, signed "Corn. Galle sculp." and "Ioan Stradanus invent." and w. address "Phls. Galle excud." in lower margin, w. 4-line Latin verse below the image, mounted at upper corners under passepartout. Very fine impression w. much contrast, on paper w. watermark crowned shield w. countermark horn, w. narrow margins, professionally mounted at all margins behind a large sheet. Smoothed-out central vertical fold. New Hollstein (C. Galle) 491. Very fine print from the series Venationes ferarum, arium, piscium (...).
